More than 1 in 4 transgender individuals have lost a job due to the transphobia of employers. More than 3 in 4 transgender people have experienced some form of discrimination or harassment in their workplaces. Many transgender individuals choose to change their career due to harassment and occasionally find themselves in dangerous industries such as sex or drug work in attempts to support themselves. There are laws and policies that are in place to prevent this kind of discrimination, but we still must do more to protect transgender individuals from harassment, sexual and physical violence, privacy violations, and more.
